CIAA Weekend 2013... are you READY?????!!!!!!!!!! Whoop Whoop!!! Charlotte comes alive CIAA Weekend and everyone in the city is DRESSED.TO.IMPRESS. Lotus currently has one ba-zillion things that you will want need for all of the festivities that are about to go down. The parties usually start on Thursday and don't stop until Monday. There are day parties... night parties... and EVERYTHING in between. That, my friends is A LOT of outfits and here is one of our picks for a night on the town... <and do not forget, when shopping online, enter CIAA20 for 20% off!!!!>

Start with our Leather Detail Dress. It's edgy and sexy, but in a classic cut and color so it screams sophistication. It also looks just as fly with tights (fishnets if you dare...). Oh, and you'll have plenty of money for drinks 'cause it's only....... wait for it..... $58.00! WHAT? Not that you will really be buying your own drinks in the dress. SHA-ZAM!

 

Totally optional, but always a good look...the NPB (No Purpose Belt). I mean, we all know it's not actually "holding" your skirt up but hey, it looks great, so go with it...

This is the perfect dress for a statement necklace and one of our favorite combos (or threesomes if you will) is Black, Creme, and GOLD! This Leaf & Stone necklace rocks our world.

Best.Dress.Ever.

Look at it. Juuuuuuust look at it. I'm IN* LOVE with this dress!!!! It is the perfect mix of feminine and edgy... sexy and classic. We have... pleats, pastels, color blocking, chains, a high low hemline, an open back.... AGH!!! I can't take it. When I look at the peach version I think... gold Gladiator sandals, wavy hair, a bright pink pout, and a beach wedding. When I see the white and black version visions of gold jewelry piled high and fierce, black strappy stilettos dance in my head. It is the best summer dress "EV-AH", but I want to wear it now (yes, in February) with a cropped black leather jacket and booties. I'm kind of an instant gratification girl. Waiting is not really my thing.

This dress is in the store now, but if you are afraid of it selling out (be afraid... be very afraid) I'd suggest getting it here... pronto!

Well, okay, maybe not THAT dress, but they are kissing cousins for sure. The kind of cousins that wed and then have kids with tails or horns. THAT close.

a love letter to LOTUS

There is a small boutique nestled in the corner of The Metropolitan in uptown Charlotte, called LOTUS that I just happen to love. That is no secret. It's a go-to for women all over the city when they are looking for a dress for a wedding, a night out on the town, or anytime that they want to dress-to-impress (that includes casual events as well....sun dresses, anyone?).  I work there part-time (although I was a huge LOTUS fan and one of their best customers long before I started working there) and one day a girl came in looking around. I asked her if she was shopping for anything in particular and she said, "Not really, I just need to look hot. I am going to a party tonight and my ex-boyfriend is going to be there with his new girlfriend." BAM! You came to the right place, sister! That, my friends, is what LOTUS is all about. Making you look AND feel like a million(I'm hotter than your freakin' new girlfriend you loser)bucks!  

Sometimes you don't need a dress though, you may already have your, as Beyonce would say, "Frekum Dress"..."Oh every woman got one...shut it down when the time comes...pull out the big gun...and put your freakum dress on!"Sometimes you just need to put it all together and finish it off with some gorg' accessories and some ridiculous shoes.
